Have you noticed how both parties are always talking about protecting families? It's never about protecting individuals.
What about single people,
living on their own?
Shouldn't they be thrown
a metaphorical bone?
Is there a reason,
mysteriously un-mentioned,
that makes them less entitled
to government attention?
