Closing the federal government for one day costs taxpayers roughly $100 million in lost productivity...I really wonder where that estimate came from. Federal employees produced it, I bet.
On the bright side, presumably various crippling new regulations will be put off for a day.
The economy may get a boost
from regulations unproduced.
