Avian Sounds

A woodpecker’s rat-a-tat-tat,
A dove’s insistent cooing -
My busy feathered friends
Inform me what they’re doing.

I wonder, while I listen,
To chatty sparrows chirping,
Why I never hear
Any birdies burping?
