Now that Bob Dylan
has won the Nobel,
Will Paul Simon be next?
No one can tell.
But it just occurred to me that two of his famous songs make reference to prophetic wall writing.
Early big hit:
"The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And years later:
"When I think back
On all the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder
I can think at all
And though my lack of education
Hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall"
So, was the second a reference to the first?
Anyway,
That was my "duh!" of the day.
