Monumental

Ran the Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis today. Lovely course. But a bit hillier than the pancake flat Chicago course. Beautiful day. But a bit warmer than is really ideal for running that distance.

Still, I'm not complaining.
I'm so glad it wasn't raining.

Congrats on another finish! I hate hills in races - don't mind them much otherwise. Glad you had good weather.

Thanks Mike!

I started out with a 4:30 pace group, but 3/4 of the way I felt the overwhelming need to SLOW DOWN, and ended up at 4:55.

When I was running Hartford, I kept watching pace groups go by me as I slowed down more and more. Near the end, I joked to myself that as soon as the "DNF" pace group passed, I would fall in with them!

That's hilarious.

I started at 4:30 pace, and actually finished at 4:55, but I never saw the 4:45 group pass me.

There's a woman from Evanston, LEA HERNANDEZ-SOLIS, who finished .3 seconds in front of me, and her other 3 published split times were always about a minute ahead of me, so we ran almost identical races but I cannot remember her at all.
