I just finished The House of the Seven Gables, by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Liked it, didn't love it.
The House of the Seven Gables
is a densely woven fable
with miscellaneous strengths
and a somewhat padded length.
I like The Scarlet Letter
eight times better.
