Labor Day Wrap Up

The beach has gone ghostly.
Summer's mostly done.

To say that is to imply a distinct progression from the end of a season to the start of another new and different one. And how beautiful that is.
Here, there is no winter that inspires us to long for the summer... no fall that makes us dread the approach of winter, and a year-long summer full of dust, humidity, and dirty, polluted beaches. Ofcourse, there is the monsoon that floods the sewers of this city regularly.

There is so much to appreciate in Chicago.

In this part of the world it's natural to react emotionally to all the changing seasons.

From having an Indian friend play classical Indian music for me, I know there is some special monsoon-associated music, but I must admit I have a hard time imagining monsoon season!
