Putin fears the women of Pussy Riot.
He hopes that locking them will keep things quiet.
I think this will backfire. I think that by locking them up, he will make them more powerful than he can possibly imagine.
For the Riot's part in this all-too-serious game,
I'd put them into the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

At the same time in this country, a woman gets five years for consensual sex with adults.
That doesn't stop our SecState from lecturing the Russians...
That's a terrible injustice, too.
I think criminalizing sex between adults who have some other kind of relationship (student/teacher, doctor/patient, etc) was a terrible mistake.
And I have the vague impression that U.S. laws on this topic are among the most severe. Of course, they vary state by state, and usually no one gets caught. But this woman does not deserve 5 years in prison.
